Fi-Plast publishes its 2025 Sustainability Report

Fi-Plast has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, the company’s second voluntary sustainability reporting exercise and a further step in the journey started in 2024 to make the communication of its environmental, social and governance performance increasingly structured, transparent and comparable.

The document brings together data, activities and results for the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025 and, where data is available and comparable, also provides a comparison with 2024, making it possible to assess the evolution of the company’s main performance indicators.

For Fi-Plast, sustainability is not a goal separate from its industrial activities, but a journey that involves everyday choices, research into materials, process efficiency, attention to people and the ability to respond to an evolving market.

A Report to measure and communicate our journey

The 2025 Sustainability Report has been prepared on a voluntary basis with reference to the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for non-listed SMEs (VSME) developed by EFRAG, adopting both the Basic Module and the Comprehensive Module.

Sustainability reporting therefore represents not only a tool for transparency towards customers, partners, financial institutions and other stakeholders, but also a support for company management: collecting and monitoring information makes it possible to better understand the results achieved, identify areas for improvement and progressively integrate ESG issues into decision-making processes.

In 2025, Fi-Plast also chose to voluntarily maintain its double materiality analysis, assessing both the impacts that the company’s activities may have on people and the environment and the risks and opportunities that sustainability issues may generate for the business.

Quality, research and innovation among our priorities

The analysis identifies product quality and safety and research and innovation as key topics, both characterised by significant impact materiality and particularly high financial materiality.

Other priorities identified include product and process circularity, climate change mitigation, growth, inclusion and people’s well-being, together with occupational health and safety and the management of the regulatory and certification framework.

These areas are closely linked to the way Fi-Plast operates: from compound formulation to technical customer support and the research into materials capable of meeting the requirements of different applications, with a focus on performance, processability, recyclability, biodegradability and compostability.

Environment, processes and responsible use of resources

The Report also devotes significant attention to environmental performance and to the journey undertaken to monitor and reduce the impacts of production activities.

Fi-Plast monitors energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through the quantification of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. In 2025, the company strengthened its use of renewable energy by purchasing electricity covered by Guarantees of Origin. The update of the energy audit and Carbon Footprint forms part of the company’s journey towards greater energy efficiency and the progressive reduction of its carbon footprint.

Alongside environmental aspects, the document addresses product quality and safety, research and development, waste and resource management, occupational health and safety, training, relations with the local community and the company’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Reporting to continue improving

The second edition of the Report enables Fi-Plast to consolidate the journey started in 2024, progressively turning data collection and analysis into a useful tool for guiding future decisions.

The priorities identified are integrated into company processes through objectives and improvement targets, specific policies and actions, and performance monitoring that makes it possible to track their evolution over time.

This journey is consistent with the approach expressed in the Report itself: combining industrial expertise, innovation, quality and attention to people, turning them into lasting value for the company and its stakeholders.
